The Wharf Bar & Kitchen is located in the coastal village of St Helens, approximately 165km East of Launceston. The Wharf Bar & Kitchen occupies an enviable waterfront position on the wharf and serves delicious food. The interior of this restaurant is beautiful. At night it is romantic and atmospheric - the lights twinkle and create a lovely mood. The restaurant focuses on local Tasmanian produce and praises its producers in the menu. We enjoyed the house made flat bread with a trio of house dips. The flat bread was warm and doughy on the inside with just the right amount of crisp and char on the outside. The baked king prawns with honey miso glaze and sesame was a treat - the prawns were juicy and the honey miso glaze was tasty and well balanced. The pan seared scallops with cream of corn was also a great dish. The fresh scallops were plump and flavoursome and the cream of corn added some sweetness.
