Aløft


Aløft is located on the top level of the Brooke Street Pier on Hobart's beautiful waterfront.

Situated at the end of the pier, Aløft has spectacular views of the River Derwent.

It has both fine dining and funky vibes but we found that as the evening progressed, the atmosphere became more intimate.

The expansive windows at the front of the restaurant allow diners to take in the view however if you'd prefer to watch the chefs in their element, you can sit around the open kitchen and watch them create.

Aløft offers a nine course chefs menu which takes your tastebuds on a Tasmanian adventure.

The cuisine could be described as modern Australian showcasing the best seasonal Tasmanian produce with Asian influences.

We adored the chefs menu. Each course was delicately and exquisitely presented. 

Although the menu emphasised fresh Tasmanian seafood, other proteins such such as pork, wallaby and lamb were featured as well as vegetables, which were treated with great respect and expertise.

Every part of our dining experience was outstanding, from the clean lines of the décor to the picture-perfect, amazingly flavoursome food and the highly attentive and friendly staff.

The thing we loved most about Aløft was their inclusive attitude - they offer a vegetarian and vegan chefs menu and are also willing to cater for most dietary requirements. The wonderful chefs even modified each and every course to cater for an allergy that one of our diners had to most herbs and spices. Thanks to the quality of the produce and the skill of the chefs and their willingness to embrace a challenge, the reimagined dishes, sans herbs and spices, were superb.

We loved our dining experience at Aløft.
